Between the launch of the Lanvin Curb Sneaker and the relaunch of Osiris Skate Shoes, the ultra-padded aesthetic of ’80s skate footwear has resurfaced, perfectly complementing today’s trend of wider, baggier silhouettes.
Seizing this market opportunity, I pitched the reintroduction of the classic PUMA Suede court shoe—only with so much padding that the original shape becomes radically distorted. There’s nowhere for all that padding to go but outward!
(The launched name is Suede XL "Crushed", as "Squeezed" couldn't pass legal.)
